The new moon was sighted with difficulty in west-central New Mexico this evening, 25 January 2020 by 2 people at 6:02 PM MST, about 31 minutes after local sunset. It was thin and dim, up 4 to 6 degrees above the local horizon. I watched it down to the local horizon at 1 2/3 degrees elevation at 6:15 PM. DM (2 observers)

The new moon was sighted from Israel this evening, Sunday, 26 January 2020!
- From Jerusalem by Nehemia Gordon at 5:15 pm, followed by Devorah Gordon and Gil Ashendorf.
- From Tiberias by Dennis and Maureen Chkolnik at 5:10 pm.
- From Eilat by Lucas Michael Schneider and his son Lior at 5:30 pm.
- From Beer Sheva by Yochanan Zaqantov and Gabby Zaqantov at 5:30 pm.
This means this evening marks the beginning of the new month. Be sure to keep track of what number month this is, based on when you started the new year!

The eleventh new was easily visible at around 8:28 PM, my wife and I was able to watch the new moon almost all the way up to its setting before the park was closed. YM (2 observers)
