Arava Israel

We had very heavy rains last night and this evening and came home from the observation literally drenched. However, the new moon was sighted this evening by Yael, Noa and Ruth Gunther in the Arava!

This means that sunset on 14 January 2021 marks the beginning of the new month. Be sure to keep track what number month this is, based on when you started the new year.

On behalf of all of us who rely on these observations, we wish to thank everyone in Israel who looked for the new moon this evening (despite the weather) and sent in their observations in a timely manner. We are also extremely grateful to those of you who have stepped up and are supporting our efforts from afar, your support helps us be able to collect the observations and share these reports in a timely fashion.

I am including below what I currently think are the Potential Chag HaMatzot Dates for 2021. With the grace of Yehovah and your support, we are planning the Aviv Search for just prior to the New Moon observation on March 14, and will schedule additional expeditions before and/or after, depending on the need and our resources.

If reliable first-hand New Moon and Aviv Reports from Israel are of value to you, please consider supporting our efforts. We could really use your support in restoring the Biblical Calendar.

Chodesh Tov! Make it a great month!
