Shalom Aleichem,
אַשְׁרֵי הָעָם יֹדְעֵי תְרוּעָה יהוה בְּֽאוֹר-פָּנֶיךָ יְהַלֵּכֽוּן
ashrei ha’am yode’ei teru’ah יהוה ve’or-paneykha yehallekhun
Blessed is the people who know the joyful shout; יהוה, in the light of your face they will walk.
Tehillim (Psalms) 89:16
Yom Teru’ah Sameach! The seventh month began with the thin crescent after sunset. In the United States it was sighted on 12 September by 1 person at 6:49 p.m. in Peoria, Arizona; by 1 person at 7:32 p.m. in Corona, California; by 5 people at 7:48 p.m. in Cortez, Colorado; by 2 people at 7:00 p.m. in Gainesboro, Tennessee; by 10 people at 8:00 p.m. in Cisco, Texas; and by 2 people at 7:40 p.m. in Tyler, Texas. In Israel Devorah’s Date Tree’s update lists positive observations on 12 September from Jerusalem (Gilo) at around 7:10 p.m. by YR and shortly thereafter by TR (naked eye, then binoculars; a third person could not see it even with binoculars), and from Ma’ale Adumim by RH with binoculars at 6:48 p.m. and with the naked eye at 6:54 p.m. Two other people saw it with binoculars only. The lag time was short, so the crescent was very close to the bright horizon. In Orlando, Florida, it was not visible due to cloud cover.

🌙 7th Biblical Month – Update Crescent Moon Report
Devorah’s Date Tree
Devorah’s update: Jerusalem (Gilo) at around 7:10 p.m. by YR, and shortly thereafter by TR, naked eye then binoculars (a third person could not see it even with binoculars). Ma’ale Adumim by RH with binoculars at 6:48 p.m. and with the naked eye at 6:54 p.m.; he followed it until it started to set behind the mountains at 6:58 p.m. Two other people saw it with binoculars only. The lag time was short, so the crescent was very close to the bright horizon. Devorah begins the 7th biblical month on 12 September (end of the 29th day). Illumination on 13 September was 7.20%, which is extremely high, i.e. not the beginning of the lunar month. No photo of the crescent; a photo by YR marks approximately where he saw it.

Update: two witnesses from Jerusalem
YH posted: TR and JR, two experienced observers, saw the new moon with the naked eye through a cloud from Gilo, Jerusalem, at 19:15, and both subsequently confirmed the sighting with binoculars under the cloud.
