The sixth month began with the thin crescent after sunset. In the United States it was seen on 13 August: by more than twenty people at 8:40 pm in Cisco, Texas, and by two people at 8:30 pm in Mt. Vernon, Texas. West-central New Mexico had monsoon clouds and little chance later in the window, and Merritt Island, Florida, was under cloud cover. The next evening it was seen from Merritt Island, Florida, at 8:06 pm EST, more than 15 degrees above a very hazy horizon (1 observer). In Israel the moon was too close to the sun on 13 August; it was seen on 14 August at 7:23 pm from the Zevulun Valley by YH and his son, and at 7:36 pm from Haifa by KR.
The seventh new moon is expected to be visible in Israel and the United States on 12 September.
