Sunday September 28, 2008 Shalom Brethren,
I pray that all is well with you and your family
on this 28th day of the sixth month. The sixth month is coming to an end
with a new moon sighting in the next few days. The first possible
visibility of the seventh new moon will be September 30th at sunset when the
moon is expected to be illuminated at 2%. The moon will be
difficult to see in most of the US with the greatest possibility of visibility
in the south west. Around the globe, Australia through South America
(mainly the southern hemisphere) should easily see the new moon September 30 if
weather conditions permit. Israel will likely not see the new moon until
October 1st.
As you know, this is an important new moon
because with its sighting we will be observing Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets),
therefore, we need as many brethren looking for the new moon as possible.
Your reports can be submitted online through the following form,
New
Moon Report. The following images can be enlarged by clicking on them,
the first two images are estimations of visibility. Truthfully, Yahweh
sets the calendar and we are just observers of that calendar. If the moon
is not visible on September 30th, October 1st at sunset will be the start of the
new moon because the sixth month will be complete with 30 days.
